I did this oil painting in 2020, during one of the pandemic lockdowns. Someone purchased it the year before last!

Work in Progress
I've been working on a raccoon drawing for a while, but the composition felt off. I spent some time testing different crops with homemade paper "mat boards". I think I found a size that I like!
Exhibition
The Creatively Canadian Art Gallery is now open at Collective Arts' Hamilton Taproom! The exhibition features my painting Where to?, alongside works by other Canadian artists. The exhibition will be open until the end of August 2025.

Vernissage
Come see my drawing "Pimisi to Bayview" at the Ottawa School of Art’s Landscape Contest exhibition. Vote for your favourite at the vernissage on July 3 (5–8pm) and view or purchase works through July 6.
Work in Progress
I've started a new oil painting and I'm almost finished the underpainting. I went with a burnt sienna and yellow ochre base layer to establish the values. This is usually a quick process. Once I start layering colour on top, I tend to paint more slowly. Check back soon to see how it looks in colour!
Awards
I was beyond excited to learn that my piece, Dogs on Pedestal (Oil on canvas) made the Jackson's Art Prize Extended Long List for 2025! You can check it out alongside the works of other finalists on their online gallery here.

Close up section of a pen ink drawing I've been working on.
Consignment
This piece, alongside one of my ink pen drawings, is now available for purchase at the Ottawa School of Art's Boutique in the Byward Market.
Daily Practice
I did these cukes as a quick still life painting (in oil) several years ago and I decided to revisit it to fancy up the background.
Vernissage
Thanks to everyone who came out to the vernissage for Sense of Place!
Exhibition
Sense of Place, a group exhibition with the Undercoverpaintbrushes, is on display at the Atrium Gallery in Centrepoint (Ottawa) from Nov 7, 2024 - Jan 14, 2025.
